NORTH COVENTRY FOOD PANTRY NEEDS YOUR DONATIONS

The North Coventry Food Pantry is located in the basement of the North Coventry Township Building. It is operated by volunteers, Carol Gilligan, Ginny Wade and Kathy Storti. The Pantry is open on the first Tuesday of every month from 9am to 10am. Established over 20 years ago, the Pantry continues to assist residents from North, East and South Coventry Townships, as well as the entire Owen J. Roberts School District community. Any questions, can be referred to Carol Gilligan @ 610-469-0288.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

The North Coventry Food Pantry has been in existence for 20 years. The late William Deegan, former chairman of the board of supervisors, and his wife Peg, along with Elizabeth (Betty) Yocom were the ones responsible for making the food pantry a reality in our community. After getting the food pantry started, it was run by Jeanne Clauser, Isabelle and Rob DeBuis and a number of other fine volunteers.

These outstanding individuals were recently honored at the first annual Make A Difference Day Community Food Drive event held on Saturday, October 28, 2006. Congressman Jim Gerlach, State Senator John Rafferty, State Representative Tim Hennessey and State Senator Andrew Dinneman all attended and spoke about the extraordinary efforts of these people.

The Make A Difference Day event was a huge success. The original goal was to fill a school bus with donations of paper goods, personal care products and non perishable food items, However that goal was far exceeded. Two and a half buses were filled with donations that will provide much needed help to the clients of the food pantry.

The volunteers of the food pantry wish to extend their thanks to everyone who helped make the day such a wonderful success. The food pantry clients were delighted and overwhelmed by the community response. That response truly did MAKE A DIFFERENCE

SPECIAL THANKS TO...
